Utvidet åpningstid for gods på Kjevik
Limited opening hours for cargo delivery at Kjevik has made it difficult for companies to put cargo on the morning and evening flights out of Kristiansand. In addition, forwarding agents have sometimes preferred routes via Stavanger or Oslo.
Starting September 1st, SAS Ground Handling extends opening hours to make it easier for agents and companies to send goods from Kjevik. Companies that use freight forwarders are encouraged to ask their agents to ship more goods from Kjevik.
“This will strengthen Kjevik as an airport. As cargo utilizes spare capacity in the belly of the regular passenger flights to Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Oslo, increased cargo figures stem any decline in passenger traffic”, says CEO Anne-Grete Ellingsen in GCE NODE.
“For airlines one kilogram load is just as much worth as one kilogram passenger. In other words, increased freight figures will benefit all of us, whether we use the airport for leisure travel or business travel”, says station manager Tor Erik Egerdahl in SAS Ground Handling.
